By far most grants go to non-profit agencies rather than businesses or individuals. While it is relatively easy to find grants, actually winning the award requires a lot of time and research. To win the award, an agency will have to demonstrate that they have the capacity to do the work the grantor wants done and that the agency’s mission aligns with the granter’s objectives. Over 2,000 government grants are listed in The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance. These grants come from the US Departments of Agriculture, Interior, of Health and Human Services Justice and Education.
